We were tasked with redesigning a financial dashboard. The stakeholders believed that users needed to see 40 different data points immediately upon login. The analytics showed users were overwhelmed and bouncing. We implemented a strategy of 'Progressive Disclosure'—showing high-level summaries first, with easy drills-down for details. This case study focuses on the negotiation process with stakeholders and the user testing data that backed up our design decisions.
